short animations
This is my short animation project, "Dress Rehearsal." I animated it in Adobe After Effects, used Clip Studio to draw the elements, and edited the backdrops in Photoshop. It could be a clip from an unknown, scrapped kids TV show, or just a cute video of a cat trying on some clothes :)

I created my GIF in Photoshop using the timeline feature. I took a copyright-free video from Pexels, grabbed a few frames, and then edited them in as many ways as I could think of.

book/sketchbook coverThis is a sketchbook cover we created to draw thumbnail sketches in. There's not much to it, I just wanted to make it something cute. I actually borrowed a doodle I did of Mimi from pop'n music & colored her in :)
For my book cover project, I redesigned the cover for "After Dark" by Haruki Murakami. I wanted it to look slightly uncanny and feature an important element from the book (the TV).

happy accidentsA poster we made for the happy accidents exhibition. Mine is titled "New Beginnings." I created this in Photoshop; a lot of layered effects and photos went into this. Fun fact: my dad and my brother are featured somewhere.

illustration: character design
In this project, I chose to do a conceptual illustration/character design. My idea was to create a retro-futuristic space alien girl thing. I chose to use silvery looking/grayish colors to replicate how a space suit looks, giving the design another layer of futurism. I also made the gem on her chest and the laser things on her helmet a contrasting shade of pink so they would stand out. I gave her a big head and beady looking eyes to portray childish innocence–but the meek smile on her face is a sign that there is something sinister lurking beneath the surface.

magazine cover & spread
I created my magazine cover using Adobe Photoshop. I wanted to design a cover themed around media from the 1990's & 2000's because those decades reflect a lot of my current interests.
|
These spreads were created using Adobe InDesign. I got really obsessed with Shibuya-kei last year and I wanted to introduce it to people who haven't heard of it. In the article, I used public domain images that I edited to look like typical Shibuya-kei album covers.

psa / how-to poster
My PSA was created using Adobe Illustrator. I chose to make the theme revolve around children and technology--specifically cellphone addiction and internet safety.
|
I created my How-To poster in Adobe Illustrate. I wanted to make a tutorial for something... dumb? One of my scrapped ideas was "how to breathe".

type, image, message
These four images were created with Adobe Photoshop. I wanted to convey ideas of futurism and mystery.
principles of design
I created these using Adobe Photoshop. While making these, I experimented with new tools such as puppet warp and textures.
elements of art
I created these using Adobe Photoshop. I tried something different in each image to explore the program's many features.
